Refrigerated Air Dryers
Refrigerated dryers are the most common as they condense moisture from compressed air by cooling the air in heat exchangers chilled by refrigerants. These dryers produce dew points in a range from 35° to 50° F at system operating pressure In addition to the pressure drop across the dryer (usually 3 to 5 psi), the energy to run the refrigerant compressor must be considered. Sullair offers models ranging from 5 to 6000 scfm, you can specify the Sullair dryer that is virtually customized to your requirements.

Regenerative Air Dryers
Twin tower regenerative air dryers are the dryers of choice when traditional refrigerated dryers do not provide sufficient air quality required for today's applications. The dryer utilizes activated alumina for efficient drying of compressed air and will operate under extreme environmental conditions. Activated alumina is aluminum oxide that is highly porous and exhibits tremendous surface area (350 sq. meters/gram). Activated alumina is resistant to thermal shock and abrasion. It has a smooth, uniform ball size that prevents channeling of the air flow, which maintains low bed velocities. This maintains air contact time for efficient moisture removal and minimal pressure drop. These dryers are made for outdoor compressed air piping and operations that require an extremely low dew point to −40°F (−100ºF optional). DRYPOINT ®M membrane modules are a real alternative to conventional compressed air dryers, especially as far as drying at the terminal station is concerned.
